About the Village A camping & glamping stay in Medbourne will ensure you experience one of Britain’s best kept village secrets. Nestling in the heart of the Welland Valley, Medbourne is one of the prettiest villages in England, perfect for a rural stay in the rolling Leicestershire countryside. The village itself is a place which hasn’t been ruined by modern life! There are quaint cottages with thatched roofs, beautiful chocolate box views - a village green, cricket pitch & sports field, and on match days, you can watch the leather hit the willow whilst enjoying a pint from the sports club which is open to all Rural Relaxing camping guests.
TENTS? MOTORHOMES? CARAVANS? We accept tents and small motorhomes (under 6m in length), but no longer accept caravans.
THE ON SITE POTTING SHED & COFFEE HUT will be open on Saturday & Sunday mornings during the main season and offers hot drinks & tasty pain aux chocolate, croissants & other delights, this is open on a take away basis.
TWO STUNNING TIPIS From time to time we will offer guests the chance to have a set pop up supper in the tipis, this will be pre-bookable when events are scheduled. Guests will be invited to book a table when events are planned. It is not possible for guests to use the tipi for their own food.
We also have an honesty box system so guests can enjoy items on a sale such as soft drinks, biscuits, crisps etc. we offer phone charging points for most devices and have a guest fridge for guests to chill items.
DOGS - Well behaved dogs are welcome on site but regret, not in glamping units, (dogs must be on leads when on site and walked off site, check the T&C's for breeds).
FIRE PITS - we also allow fires BUT only in our own fire pits providing they are off the ground & only ever used by responsible adults
Not much disturbs the peace here in Medbourne apart from the babbling brook or blackbird song, what'smore it's a 5 minute walk to a lovely riverside pub, the Nevill Arms which serves excellent cuisine & fine wines & real ales. A café at the rear of the pub serves breakfast, lunch afternoon tea, the Nevill is open 7 days & they are re-opening on 4th July. The village shop & Post Office sells essential items including home baked bread, milk, eggs, bacon, sausages, newspapers etc. and you are assured of a warm welcome here.
The village boasts much historical architecture too and a walk round is worth it, there are some lovely walks (seek out the Blaston track, a field road from Medbourne to Blaston, perfect for dog walking & is a great “off road” cycle track, or walk the hill up to Nevill Holt and be inspired with the incredible views over the valley. It's a special place with much to offer & you won't be disappointed.
